This building stood on the northeast corner of Provost & Forbes Street and the lot was the site of the Primitive Church, which burned in The Big Fire of 1874, and then later the site of the Royal Hotel which was also destroyed by fire in 1882. In 1888 the Norton Lodge Number Six of Oddfellows began construction on a three story building, which housed two stores (Bent & Cahoon Hardware and L. Higgins Boots and Shoes) on the ground floor, with storage for the hardware store on the second floor and the lodge meeting rooms on the third floor.
The lot was eventually sold and the Roseland Theatre was built on the site in 1915.
